Scott J Corcoran What can you say about this song? Beautifully poignant, powerful and dynamic!!! It doesn’t even sound like Stratospheerius, usually that’s a bad thing. Here all the collaborations with brilliant talent in our Progressive Rock world have woven a beautiful tapestry!!! Kudos to Joe, the band, the beautiful voice of Michael Sadler, the gorgeous otherworldly talents of Rachel Flowers, tasty and melodic tones and versatility of Fernando Perdomo, the dramatic interplay of Ruth & Yulia make this a g Favorite track: Storm Surge.

Jed Levin A beautiful, sad song. The title is so appropriate: I read last night that entire villages of people on the Fiji Islands have to abandon their islands and find new homes because of flooding like they’ve never had before. Will they be able to find new homes? It’s not a hoax. Favorite track: Storm Surge.

about

Storm Surge is about the anxiety we all feel in these uncertain times. With the global pandemic, racism, and the continuing struggles for social justice, climate change, political upheaval, economic turmoil, and a future of uncertainty, there is a storm that’s raging inside of us right now.

This song was a collaboration with legendary singer Michael Sadler from Saga, blind multi-instrumentalist prodigy Rachel Flowers, guitarist Fernando Perdomo, violinist, Yulia Ziskel and cellist Ruti Celli.

Storm Surge
By Joe Deninzon, Friederich Burgmüller, Michael Sadler, and Jason Gianni

Tangled emotions
waves pound the oceans
wild winds fill my slumber
darkness pulls me under

Caught in a storm surge
shackled and submerged
restless dreams they haunt me
drowning in this mad sea

The storm raging inside me
I reach for you but I can’t breath
mouth wide open I can’t scream
my life flashing by me

The storm raging inside me
tidal waves that surround me
every night it’s the same dream
drowning in this mad sea
